About CrossSense
2.5 years of active community co-design. Now building the technology people living with dementia needed all along.
This isn't a product to us—it's a promise.
Built with the community
Every feature in CrossSense was shaped by real conversations with people living with dementia, their care partners, and clinicians who understand the daily challenges.
We don't design for the community—we design with them. Through workshops, in memory cafes or home setting, and ongoing partnerships, we ensure that every decision honours the needs and dignity of those we serve.
The Journey
From a clinical observation to a mission-driven team
The vision
Late 2015: Members of our original team read research papers on multisensory integration and how it could facilitate cognitive rehabilitation sessions using augmented reality (AR) technology in real world environment—a 10-year vision was born.
Early prototypes & pandemic pivot
2016-2017: Early prototypes on mobile phones determined smartglasses were essential. 2019-2020: Demonstrating wearable prototypes on bulky smartglasses. 2020-2022: Pandemic pivot to medical software development with universities and hospitals. 2022 reigniting research into supporting brain health and beginning new generation prototyping.
Technology feasible
We started 2.5 years of active community co-design. Meanwhile, smartglasses hardware and AI have finally started catching up with what our vision required. We finally could build something that sees what you see, hears what you say, and understands where you are in a sequence. Wispy came to life.
The proof
As we co-designed the solution and shared our development progress with people living with dementia and their carers, one insight became clear: it wasn't about single tasks. It was about sequences of actions. We carried out a study initially recruiting over 30 dyads.
3 in 4 participants experienced meaningful quality of life improvement
in a single session (n=23, p<.001, large effect size)
The evidence validated what we heard in memory cafes: with the right support, at the right moment, people can do far more than anyone expected.
The final pilot
Spring 2026: We're launching our final 2-week pilot across the UK before market launch. Be among the first to experience what we've proven works—and help us understand how far it can go.
Join the pilotWhat we believe
We believe dementia doesn't mean giving up on living fulfilling lives. We're building technology that elevates capability, restores confidence, and brings joy back to daily moments.
Our commitment
The people we met in memory cafes trusted us with their stories while facing incredible challenges. We feel obliged to deliver. This isn't a product to us—it's a promise.
How we build trust
Trust earned through 2.5 years of community co-design, scientific research, and our commitment to ethical AI.
Data privacy
Your data is never sold. Period. People trusted us with their stories. We protect that trust.
Human support
Real human support. Reach out to us. Technology should enhance human connection, not replace it.
Community built
Built with the dementia community. Every feature shaped by real needs, real struggles, and real hope.
Meet the team
A mission-driven team committed to deliver CrossSense to those living with dementia and their carers.
From AI engineers, designers, psychologists and neuroscientists to community advocates—our diverse team shares one vision: technology that enhances human potential and maintains independence.
