Rediscovering what we thought was lost

CrossSense is an app for smartglasses that provides real-time, step-by-step support for people living with dementia. Acting as a patient companion, it helps users navigate daily activities, rebuild confidence, and enhance their quality of life.

Imagine standing in your kitchen, kettle right in front of you, knowing you’ve made tea thousands of times—but today, the sequence escapes you. It’s not necessarily that you’ve forgotten how to make tea; the order of things might have become unclear. This experience, familiar to many living with early-stage dementia, reflects not a loss of knowledge but a loss of sequence. The frustration of asking, "What was I doing? What comes next?" can overshadow even the simplest of daily routines.

At CrossSense, we asked what if technology could help you work through these moments, step by step, with patience and without judgement? What if you had a trusty companion to walk with you, as many times as needed, reminding you not of your limitations but of your capabilities?

Meet CrossSense: A step-by-step companion

CrossSense helps people living with dementia stay confident, independent, and connected through smartglasses that provide real-time cognitive support in everyday life.

CrossSense is not an app you need to learn. It is an AI companion—gentle, intuitive, and perceptive—that lives in smartglasses and evolves with you. It collaborates in pursuing daily activities. Whether you’re making tea, getting dressed, or preparing a meal, CrossSense helps you find the thread when it slips away. It sees what you see, listens to what you say, and helps you piece together the sequence of your day.

"Giving an order to things. Focusing on just one thing at a time rather than the millions of things I don't want to think about."

— Person living with early-stage dementia

It’s about companionship. When you succeed, it celebrates with you. When you’re unsure, it asks questions that help you recall your own routines. It provides emotional and practical support woven together, because living with dementia isn’t just about memory—it’s about dignity, agency, and staying connected to the person you are and those around you.

Built on evidence, grounded in reality

CrossSense was born through years of listening. We spent over two years in memory cafés and workshops, hearing directly from people living with dementia and their carers. We learned about the anxiety of social situations, the desire to feel capable, and the profound need for technology that supports rather than monitors or supervises.

In our recent study, with 23 participants who used CrossSense only once (during a single session), we have seen incredibly encouraging results. 76% of people experienced a meaningful improvement in quality of life, participants named 75% more objects, and their general cognition improved by 10%. One carer described the change as "like a lightbulb switched back on." Another participant noted, "It’s really nice to have a backup and not think I’m an idiot." These words matter to us even more than the numbers. This is about restoring confidence through supporting cognitive function. We hypothesise that a longer study will demonstrate even more powerful outcomes. These findings could help redefine digitally administered therapies and, over time, allow us to support more types and stages of dementia. We will remain committed to enhancing human potential through joy and hope. As one community member told us, "Life without fun is not worth living."

Join us in shaping the future

A single session study showed what's possible. The early results are a glimpse of a different future where we may be able to significantly slow cognitive decline. Two weeks of Wispy learning your unique routines, celebrating your successes, and patiently guiding you through your day could unlock a transformative experience of rediscovering the rhythm of your life with a companion that adapts to you.

It's your chance to be at the forefront of a breakthrough. The app is already useful and gets better every week.

Your experience will provide the essential evidence to launch CrossSense to the world in 2026, helping many people living with dementia more reclaim their independence.
